An emotional drama. Written for actor kamal haasan through and through. Scenes between him and balachander were too good!.. Audience were overwhelmed. Very good response from theater.

Comedy in the 8th century portions should had been written better.

BO Status would be good Sriman, atleast by the audience reaction. They were overwhelmed. The comedy portions in the 8th century portions dint click that much, otherwise a good movie.

the comedy portions were not too intelligent to kamal's standards but overall the movie was excellent.. going for a second time tomorrow

Not sure abt others,, some how I liked Mumbai express... if M E released today it might be a runaway hit...

+1... somehow ME failed with others at its time. I liked it and thought it was close to Pesumpadam in its dark satirical humor.

Appreciation of any movie doesn't require mindless fascination or fanboy behavior towards an actor. From a nostalgic perspective, I also wish that RK and KH keep producing good movies. But, that is not the case. They have both slipped sadly.

Criticism is of the movie and not the actor. Not that the actor is above criticism as well...
And, unlike what Suhasini and some folks here think, everyone has an opinion about entertainment. It is childish to get all worked up over it...
And, this movie does fall flat, in my opinion.

Fantastic post.. Fan boyism killing Tamil cinema...can be mad about actors but should criticize their movies and their acting without any ego....now a days trend is during movie release fans say I like it ..audience response is great blah blah and aft some months and years they itself accept its a crap and flop...plz note I didn't see uthamavillain and my.post is about general fans reaction

I also remember during mma release someone here posted last half an hour is a laugh riot so I went to a movie with lot of expectations but its one of the worst movies of kamal and worst last half an hour of kamal movies
