I think comparing new singers like Shreya with old singers like P.Susheela and Janaki may not be fair to the older sings The reason is that singers like Shreya get a lot of leeway in the way they sing. They can sing line by line and get the complete song joined together. The older stalwarts did not have this facility and did it in one take. At the same time comparing Shreya with the older stalwarts in not fair to her because she doesn't have the same quality music directors which Lata, Susheela or Janaki had!!! So it is better to leave it at that and say that of the new lot, she is the best. And forget the awards!!! They can never be a criteria in judging the singer.
