Sathish, absolutely no idea about Nokia/Blackberry. I am only Android
I suggest Android based smartphones becos they are much affordable and equally fumctional with iPhone. There simply is no alternative as of now, technically and feature wise.

There is a saying that "Digital Cameras are not just MegaPixel, there is muchmore beyind that". Similarly, mobiles are not just hardware specs, there is another important thing called apps/ecosystem. Add affordability too and you automatically land on Android Smartphones.

Satissh,
Get Samsung Galaxy S I9003 for 17,990. This is almost same as I9000, the difference being S-LCD screen instead of Super AMOLED. The only thing you need to check out is the battery backup. This is the best phone you can get under 20K.

Apple's iPhone 4S is swell, but pricing is the real killer app
Here’s the rundown:
The iPhone 4S starts at $199 for a 16GB device.
The iPhone 4 moves to $99.
And the iPhone 3GS is now free.
The expectation that apple is releasing iPhone5 is gone now. But anyways, iPhone5 should be a new generation new features... maybe quad core?!?
As of now, Apple cleverly released an iPhone refresh with the same chip in iPad, and few features like voice search etc, but the main attraction is the price point. Tough kaampteesan for Android!

Finally finally ordered the S2 from Amazonwireless for $150. This will be for the wife. I am getting iPhone 4 for $99 next week. Played with S2 at the store for a little while and I already think S2 > iPhone 4. iPhone 4S is plain BS. That Siri figure won't understand my Indian accent and I don't see the point anyway. I can actually install the iOS 5 on my iPhone 4.
