1992 -ம் ஆண்டுக்கான தேசிய விருது பெறுபவர்களை தேர்வு செய்யும் குழுவில் இயக்குனர் பாலுமகேந்திராவும் இடம் பெற்றிருந்தார். அப்போது சிறந்த இசையமைப்பாளரை தேர்வு செய்வதற்கான தேர்வில் வெற்றி பெற்று இறுதி சுற்றுக்கு இரண்டு படங்கள் மட்டும்தான் தேர்வாகி இருந்தன. ஏ.ஆர்.ரஹ்மானின் "ரோஜா" படமும், இளையராஜாவின் "தேவர் மகன்" படமும்தான் இறுதி சுற்றி அடைந்த அந்த இரண்டு படங்களும்.

ராஜாவும், ரஹ்மானும் ஒரே அளவிலான வோட்டுகள் பெற்றிருந்த நேரத்தில், பாலுமகேந்திராவின் வோட்டுதான் சிறந்த இசையமைப்பாளரை தேர்வு செய்யும் என்பது மாதிரியான ஒரு இக்கட்டான சூழ்நிலை ஏற்பட்டிருக்கிறது. அப்படிப்பட்ட நேரத்தில் இளைஞர் ஒருவரை ஊக்குவிக்கும் பொருட்டு " ரோஜா" படத்துக்கு தன்னுடைய வோட்டை செலுத்தி, சிறந்த இசையமைப்பாளருக்கான விருதை ஏ.ஆர்.ரஹ்மானுக்கு வழங்கியுள்ளார் பாலு மகேந்திரா.

இதை தன்னுடைய பத்திரிகை, தொலைக்காட்சி பேட்டிகளில் பாலுமகேந்திராவே கூறியுள்ளார்.

ரஹ்மானுக்கு ஆதரவாக தான் வோட்டு போட்டதை, ராஜாவிடம் உடனடியாக தொலைபேசி மூலம் பாலு மகேந்திரா பகிர்ந்து கொண்டதாகவும் ஒரு தகவல் இருக்கிறது. அது எத்தனை சதவிகிதம் உண்மை என்று தெரியாவில்லை.

A daily like Dinamalar should not have stooped down like this.
IR concerned about his career ? that too because of a Telugu to Tamil dubbing of his work ??
What nonsense...If so, he should have worried about that 25 years ago when Swathi Muthyam was dubbed to Tamil as "Sippikkul mutthu" and Sagara sangamam was dubbed as "Salangai Oli". The songs in both these films had more Telugu flavor than Tamil.

During the pre-release days of SRR, Raja Sir was very much involved in in this movie and the team. He was there every time they needed him right from press meet, to audio launch and other occassions. He was getting along so well with the SRR team and I don't think either both news has any facts behind them. Raja sir composed many DUBAKOOR movies in telugu (naarkaali kanavugal type) and they all got dubbed in tamil and he never interfered. I don't even think he will be involved directly in dubbed versions of his other language movies.

I would say, there is something not right with the dubbed version of SRR and Raja and we don't know what it would be.. Nerupillama pugaiyaadhu, at the same time, all these news are assumptions. We may even read a different news in a different site or newspaper soon.

That IR tried to derail the release of Tamil dubbed version of SRR, complaining / taking up with film-field-related org's / guilds etc

Two different mags / two different gossip reasons for this.

One speculates rAsA being worried about how it will affect his TFM market chances

The other speculates about rAsA trying to make additional money - by making BGM changes etc for TF version

Even if one takes the stand that no smoke without fire, IR could have filed complaint against release for rights issues or some payment related issues by the TN dubber.

Either way, one more thing for the gossip mags to drag IR

Though that tamilcinema.com is an unreliable / gossipy / cooking-up kind of site, I've generally observed that they are respectful of IR. Always write highly about him in reviews etc. Not known for "anti-IR" mentality. If anything, it's the opposite.

That they report a news item that could be somewhat derogatory to IR can at the minimum mean that IR did make some efforts (at least complaints to associations) against the SRR-TF release, for whatever reason.
