It's a shame indeed that we need a 13 year old child to fight against such barbaric customs.

I was watching last week's Neeya Naana. One half of the participants were hand picked . They were supposed to represent the student community of TN. They were asked to to talk about the most pertinent social issues bothering them. I was appalled by their pathetic knowledge. Ennada padikireenga neenga ellam. I watched till the time one from the other side summed it up beautifully. He said something like this. "Modernismin muga thirai kilikkapattathu. There is an attempt by the media people to push modernism as something related to the way people look , dress etc . Aana pala vidhayatha therinju iruppathu than modernism" . Beautifully put. As for the students, you people are hopeless , disappointing lot. The video is over here :

Japan nuked US in World War II, says Gujarat’s Class VIII book
"The Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, was assassinated on October 30, 1948. And it was Japan that nuked US during World War II! These are just two of the 'nuggets of wisdom' out of an inexhaustible mine of factual errors in Social Science English medium textbook for Standard 8 published by the Gujarat Council of Educational Research and Training (GCERT)". "The textbook also teaches impressionable minds that after Partition in 1947, a new nation was born called, 'Islamic Islamabad', and that its capital was Khyber Ghat in the Hindukush mountains". "A cursory glance through the textbook of 124 pages reveals 59 shocking factual errors that have the potential of turning history on its head, apart from more than 100 spelling errors".
