He worked with Zimmer for performing in the Oscar ceremony and not for any movie. Post the Oscar win, he worked in 3 Hollywood movies. Couples Retreat, 127 Hours and People Like Us. CT's Na Na made it to the long list. 127 hours earned him 2 nominations - taking his total Oscar nomination count to 5. PLU released a few months back and we have to see what is in store. While his fellow MDs struggle to grab even black ladies aka filmfare trophies, I am at least happy to see ARR in the Kodak theatre year after year

On a side note, this has helped ARR to collaborate with many stalwarts for his subsequent works. Ann Marie, Jagger, Dido, Liz Phair, Orianti, etc.

I am not sure about the position he holds in Hollywood right now. And honestly, I am not too worried about that because I didn't expect him to be at the top all of a sudden. He did that here in India but Hollywood is a bigger ball game. Hope he makes careful strides to the top. No urgency.

You are not sure about the position he holds in hollywood, and all that position was mainly becos of his winning of Academy award. See, w you are talking about Raja's opions, answers and we shud keep away his musical skills away. AThu vera ithu vera. Veruppai kottinaar nnu solreengaLe enna sonnaar, can you kindly quote?? Also read Raja thread where i posted the questions asked to Raja. They were wither totally mis quoted(asked in a wrong manner) or intentionally asked to irritate him. I mean, they were asked with a hidden statement that IR is jeleous of Rahman's growth and achievement. Rahman fans and Anti-Raja fans will comfortably leave out the question asked and always will try to play with Raja's answers, and misunderstand/mis-represent them.

I agree with you.. He shouldn't have made a comparison. Rahman is beyond comparisons. Rahman is a God to us in music. Actually, for someone like me who doesn't believe in religion, he is a God to me in all aspects. Even when I get into arguments with other fans here, I later regret it.

I too agree with you. Its blaspemy to compare not just Rahman but any MD with Raja. And i have no issues with ur opinon too. Its ur right. But apart from offers/commercial-success/fame etc its critically agreed by many music reviewers from carnatic music industry, Bollywood stalwarts, All the contemporary MDs of South, and many more musically intelligent ppl that there just is no comparision or alternative for Raja's Talent.

Music Industry watchers very well know that Fastest Brain, Vast Musical Knowledge & Creativity are Child's play for Raja and till date there is no one who beats Raja in both Quantiy and Quality. This statement can be safely said along with agreeing all the achievements of Rahman. Both statements can live side by side and there is no issues at all. Just that When the experts say that there is no comparison for Raja, they very well excludes Rahman too from the already empty list! Also this statement in no way reduces the talent weight of Rahman, not makes fun or pun of criticizes Rahman's Excellence.
