AFAI Know - Kamal eulogizing Yusuf Khan (Dilip Kumar) Saheb happened even before the Filming of Marudhanaayagam - He has often played with Words, aptly, like the use of - Yusuf becoming Dilip and Dilip becoming Rahman. I used to have paper cuttings of Kamal's interviews from late 1980s (after pEsum padam) - i remember reading him praising Dilip Kumar a lot.

Kamal loved Mehmood (of Padosan fame) too. I remember him saying "..we all Mylapore/Alwarpet friends went to Kamadhenu theatre conspiring to tear the Seats there with Blades (since Kamadhenu was playing Padosan), since Mehmood was making fun of tamil pArpanars. But when i saw the film - i just started loving him".
