Prof. R. Tatacharya awarded the ‘Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur’

Professor Navalpakkam Ramanuja Tatacharya, professor and associated researcher at the French Institute of Pondicherry, is a leading authority in the fields of shastras (sciences) that are the Nyaya, the Vyakarana, the Mimamsa and the Vedanta.

In recognition of his scholarly achievements, he was conferred the prestigious title of ‘Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur’ from the Government of France in a ceremony which was held at the French Consulate in Pondicherry on 12 July 2012, in the presence of his Excellency, Mr. François RICHIER, Ambassador of France in India.

S. Ramanujan, former professor of drama, and theatre artiste, M. S. Gandhi Mary, Tamil teacher and theatre artiste, Lycee Francais of Puducherry, who received the Chevalier Award of French Government, and S. Muruga Bhoopathy, theatre artiste, who received Yuva Puraskar award of Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi, were honoured at the World Theatre Day 2013 celebration at South Zone Cultural Centre here on Wednesday.

Chevalier.Varadha Veerappan ,this name has now been less known in Pondicherry (the once French colony) today. But if you turn back the pages in the history of Pondicherry , this man has an lot of involvements in the growth of Pondicherry .He is one of the most important person who was responsible to initiate the growth of education system in Pondicherry .

What i meant was your Mr.Srinivasan or Mr. Whoever Kuppan or suppan you mentioned were not the Chevalier Award Winners...

Please check the list yourself....Those whoever was given by the Government of France where worth the award. Also, the names that you had mentioned and in the award list were heredetorily also part of France regiment.

It is not easy to get an international recognition !

Lot of research about the candidate and inspection / verification would go in and only the deserved would get.

In that way, you claim about the award itself is a lie and false.

Dont turn around the table on me...! Accept your ignorance..!

I have never initiated the ingenuity of your Bharath Award first. Whereas, it your kindself who first spoke about Padmasri, Dadasaheb award etc., and followed by Mr. Kaliaperumal for which i had to write the truth.

Mr. Kicheamourty was given this award as a recognition for his work and contribution towards french when he was the Head of French Department, University of Pondicherry. There is nothing wrong in it. He has contributed and was also associated directly with promotion of french through scholar with the University of Pondicherry.

Do you mean to say, Mr. Kicheamourty is another kuppan or suppan ?

Boss, Please see the contribution of every person ....these people are not ordinary guys !
