Our NT's "Anbe Aaruyire" is a full length romantic comedy but not in the class of SABAASH MEENA or GALAATA KALYAANAM. It hit the silver screens on 27 Sept 1975 and ran upto 1 Nov 1975, for a small period of 36 days. On 2 Nov 1975 [Deepavali day], in most of the theatres - all over South & Chennai, it gave way to Dr.SIVA & VAIRA NENJAM. It did a below average business in the Box-Office.

Apart from NT, MSV's music was the saving grace in the film. Particularly one song 'Malligai Mullai Pooppandhal' sung by Vani Jayaram attained evergreen status.
