Mahendra raj, please continue to enlighten us without fear or favour.
I perfectly understand that when you speak about Gemini, you will also speak about Sivaji & MGR as they all belong to the same era.

Thanks Gopal for your concern. But just one thing is bugging me - how do you interpret 'glorifying'? That very word itself can be construed as 'propaganda' or 'promoting a person' unilaterally without touching on the other side of them. If you look back in all my articles I never did glorify any celebrities, save for Kaviarasu Kannadhasan. I have also occasionally written on the other side of Kaviarasu Kannadhasan after verifying facts which I deemed appropriate for publicizing although he is dear to my heart.

I am sure you will understand that it is not that easy to save and post while writing on something else in another thread as requested by you. By the time you finish writing you may have forgotten about it totally. The flow of thoughts will definitely be interrupted which is also why sometimes the names of other celebrities are mentioned in threads meant to be for a particular celebrity. This norm of writing is universally accepted, that is, a certain degree of straying from the main topic is allowed but which must have some bearings to the former.

I write what I feel ought to be shared with others and I am sure the Moderator will bar me if I am writing nonsense or giving snide and uncalled for comments on certain celebrities. That is what, in other words, is independent writing without fear and favour. The only logical thing to do when coming across dubious stories is either to counter it with facts or seek further clarifications. If this is practised we can rest assured that it will lead to healthy and matured discussions on any topic under the sun. Just by being emotional and uttering disparaging remarks will not make any headway. I rest my case but in the spirit of brotherhood let bygones be bygones and looking forward for some lively postings on the past happenings in the Tamil film industry from you.

Before I sign off let me tell you one secret - I have been openly telling my friends who claim to know intimate information especially on MGR and Shivaji that a group of hubbers (you are included) in this Forum are far better well informed than them. Some of them are amazed with the way even the minutest technical detail of these stalwarts is provided backed by scanned documents dating back to several decades. And all these are done voluntarily and not for commercial purposes. That is true passion. So, you see even I am mesmerized with all those stories with facts and figures which evokes the memory almost daily. So, would it be far-fetched to regard all of you as authorities of old Tamil films? A resounding NO! Despite all the negative comments about my writings I still think that all of you who provide such rare stories are great! Keep up the good work and let us all make this thread a lively source of reference.

Thanks for clarifying your stance Mahendra Raj. I only want to point out couple of things for your notice.
1)There were lot of trash articles in the past which will not serve as reference point.
2)Couple of times ,Murali and I have to intervene with great inconsistencies and inaccuracies in recordings of Incidences and years.
3)Instead of claiming neutrality and entering into proxy wars in other threads ,we can openly declare our intentions and inclinations and be honest about it.
Instead of understanding my points, you are re-iterating your stance time and again. Mr.Ragavendar only pointed out that your inappropriate choice of thread to voice your views.
I think I have to put a stop here as NOV pointed I do not want to assume the role of self proclaimed moderator!!!!!!????????????

In my opinion ,all the other actors including Gemini sterio typed their love scenes. But Gemini being a soft Romancing Hero willing to go behind heroines won him the special Title. After Sivaji got back his slim Body, movies like niraikudam, Sumathi En Sundari, raja, Vasantha maligai made him the Kathal Chakravarthy. Movies clicked the big way. The beauty is Sivaji never replicate or repeat his love scenes and they have wide range like his other emotions ,it is always expressed in the skin of the characters that he played ,to show that how that particular character would have romanced.

I dont question your neutrality but you appear biased in your recordings. My humble suggestion is that you stick to the Actors or personality you talk about highlighting their strength ,weakness and achievement without dragging the other with unnecessary comparison and showing your vested interests obviously.
despite your knowledge and writing style, this trait is making the reader little worked up and turn cold shoulder against you.
It would be great if you follow your own advice.

    Mahendraraj,

Please continue posting without worrying about what others say.

Thanks Little Master 1982. I will continue just the way I am used to for entertainment sake alone. I do not have any personal agenda to infiltrate and influence others. I am strongly beholden to Kaviarasar Kannadhasan's lines - 'Nenjikku Thevai Manasaatchi Athu Neethi Devanin Arasaatchi.....(En Annan 1970 - song 'Kadavul Yean Kallaanaar").

    Hi Gopal,

Do you mean to say that stories published in leading magazines like Kumudham, Ananda Vikatan, Kalki, Bommai, Pesum Padam, Kunkumam, Bhagya, Rani, Devi, Junior Vikatan, Kumudham Reporter are trash? Many of the incidences quoted are from these popular weeklies and not from third-rate periodicals. Of course, there were instances when some celebrities concerned had open tiffs with these editors for leaking out privileged information. I don't remember these celebrities concerned demanding public apologies from these magazines. However, there was one instance when KBalachander wanted to institute legal action against Kumudham for purportedly publishing an invented story involving him and Kushboo. The magazine clarified at length that the story was actually a April Fool stunt and not meant to be taken seriously.

You accused me of bringing ethnicity issue which I sincerely did not mean it in the way you imply. I just reported what was told in verbatim. That is all and I left it at that. You chose to be picky by singling it out after a long period. Even I had forgotten about that matter which was written some time ago. But just now I saw your posting where you openly welcomed Shivaji 'belonging to the Devar community'. I don't see anything wrong in it, although it was irrelevant and out of context, but then why the double standards?

Pointing out shortcomings is one thing and which could be told diplomatically. But the choice of words was what made me to write back. You can re-visit it for confirmation. I am sad that blunt and sarcastic comments are being posted in this otherwise excellent thread which is already becoming the source of archives of Tamil films and all things Infian cinema. Debate, discuss, pose questions, agree to disagree - that is your liberty. But it should be done in with dignity and a certain degree of professionalism. These are the accepted moral principles of any public forum. That is what we all should do - work within this framework instead of being personal and choosing unbecoming words or language. I hope you will not take offence but will emdeavour to see the larger picture. Hoping to see your continued participation like as usual.
